Travel Trailers at Outlet Recreation
Travel trailers are the largest part of the RV inventory at Outlet Recreation, and every one in stock across the Fargo, Detroit Lakes, and Clearwater stores is on this page, new and used, with photos, floorplans, pricing, and the store where it is parked.
A travel trailer hooks to a standard bumper-pull hitch, so most half-ton pickups and many SUVs can tow one. Floorplans run from compact couples’ campers under 20 feet to bunkhouse models that sleep eight or more. Filter by length, sleeping capacity, slide-outs, make, price, or monthly payment to narrow the list.

Choosing a travel trailer
Start with your tow vehicle. Look up its rated towing capacity in the Tow Guide, then compare it to each trailer’s GVWR (its maximum loaded weight), not the dry weight, and leave room for gear, water, and passengers. Lightweight models built for half-ton trucks and SUVs keep the dry weight down with aluminum framing and fewer slide-outs.
Then pick the layout. Bunkhouse floorplans put the kids in their own space; rear-living and front-bedroom models suit couples; outdoor kitchens matter if you cook at the campsite. For shoulder-season camping in Minnesota and North Dakota, look for an enclosed, heated underbelly and tank heaters.
- Bunkhouse: a separate bunk room, often with its own entry or half bath.
- Couples: a rear living room or a walk-around queen bed and more kitchen space.
- Lightweight: built for half-ton trucks and SUVs, usually under 6,000 lbs dry.
Why buy from Outlet Recreation
Outlet Recreation has been locally owned and operated since 2007, when the first store opened in Fargo, North Dakota. Today there are three stores (Fargo, ND (492 36th St SW), Detroit Lakes, MN (605 Highway 10 E), and Clearwater, MN (2088 202nd Street East)), and every unit on this page is on one of those lots, with the store named on each listing so you know exactly where to see it.
Buying here means one stop for the whole ownership cycle: financing through multiple lenders (including a no-SSN pre-qualification that does not affect your credit score), trade-in appraisals on RVs, boats, pontoons, and fish houses, factory-trained service across 32 bays, genuine parts and accessories, seasonal storage, and RV, boat, and pontoon rentals if you want to try the lifestyle before you commit.
Financing and trade-ins
Every store can finance your purchase. Start with the payment calculator to see what a price, down payment, term, and rate work out to per month, then apply through the Financing page or pre-qualify with no Social Security number and no impact to your credit score. Our finance team works with multiple lenders to fit different credit profiles and budgets.

Frequently asked questions
What can tow a travel trailer?
Most half-ton pickups can tow a mid-size travel trailer, and many SUVs can tow the lightweight models. Check your vehicle’s rated towing capacity in the Tow Guide and compare it to the trailer’s GVWR, not its dry weight.
Travel trailer or fifth wheel?
A travel trailer uses a bumper-pull hitch, works with more vehicles, and generally costs less. A fifth wheel needs a pickup with an in-bed hitch, but it tows more steadily and offers taller ceilings and more residential layouts.
Do you have bunkhouse travel trailers?
Yes. Bunkhouse floorplans are among the most popular on the lot. Use the Sleeps filter or search “bunkhouse” to find them, and each listing’s floorplan image shows the bunk layout.
Where is Outlet Recreation located?
Outlet Recreation has three stores: 492 36th St SW, Fargo, ND 58103; 605 Highway 10 E, Detroit Lakes, MN 56501; and 2088 202nd Street East, Clearwater, MN 55320. Each listing on this page names the store where that unit is parked.
Does Outlet Recreation offer financing?
Yes. All three stores finance RVs, boats, pontoons, fish houses, and golf carts through multiple lenders. You can pre-qualify online with no Social Security number and no impact to your credit score, or use the payment calculator to estimate a monthly payment before you apply.
Can I trade in my current unit?
Yes. Outlet Recreation accepts trade-ins on RVs, boats, pontoons, fish houses, and trailers. Submit the Value My Trade form or bring the unit to any store for an appraisal, and the value is applied toward your purchase.
