Just In Time For Saint Patrick's Day, A Corned Beef Recipe.
No luck of the Irish is needed to make a delicious Corned Beef. There are two ways to make this: baked or slow-cooked.
Baking it with a sweet honey mustard sauce is sure to impress. You can make this easily in your home or Recreational Vehicle!
Ingredients:
4 pounds corned beef
1 tablespoon honey mustard
1 tablespoon horseradish
1 cup of beef broth
Pepper to taste
Directions:
Combine the honey mustard and the horseradish together and spread over the corned beef. If the meat you purchased comes with a spice mix, add this and the pepper to it as well. Place this into a baking dish and add the broth. Cover with foil and bake at 325 degrees for about 45 minutes per pound. When ready, slice to serve.
Another way to make this traditional meat is to leave it cooking in a crockpot all day. Here is the recipe you need to make a mouth-watering Beef Brisket.
Ingredients:
1 whole beef brisket
1 tablespoon minced garlic
1 tablespoon Dijon mustard
1 onion, sliced
1 bottle of chili sauce
12 ounces of dark ale or beef broth
2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
1 tablespoon brown sugar
Directions:
Put the brisket into the crockpot and add garlic to the meat, fat side down. Spread Dijon mustard over this as well and add any extra seasoning packets that came with the meat. Add a dash of salt and pepper to this with the sliced onions. Mix the chili sauce, brown sugar, broth or beer and Worcestershire sauce in a bowl and then pour over meat. Cook this on low for about 8 to 10 hours. If you need it sooner, cook on high for about 5 hours.
No matter which way you cook this meat, when it is ready, it should be fork-tender and tear apart easily. Pair this savory meat with some potatoes, cabbage, soda bread, or other Irish favorites. Wash it down with a green beer and relax with friends and family.
